SEB Bank starts disbursement to customers of AB bankas Snoras on 22 December
SEB Bank started disbursement to customers of AB bankas Snoras on 22 December. The compensations are paid out by SEB’s main, Tornimäe office at Tornimäe 2, Tallinn and the Roosikrantsi branch at Roosikrantsi 2, Tallinn.
To claim the compensation, the customer or an authorized representative of the customer must go to the bank branch with an identity document, and if necessary, a document such as a power of attorney.
On 24 November 2011, the supervisory board of the Lithuanian central bank decided to declare AB bankas Snoras insolvent and launch bankruptcy proceedings against the bank. Pursuant to European Union and Lithuanian legal acts, depositors of a bankrupt bank enjoy up 100% coverage for up to 100,000 euros per individual and company.
The Lithuanian deposit guarantee fund Indėlių ir Investicijų Draudimas is responsible for compensating the deposits and the disbursements in Estonia take place through AS SEB Bank. The basis for paying out the compensation is a list prepared by the Lithuanian deposit guarantee fund regarding AB bankas Snoras customers and the amounts subject to be refunded to them.
If a customer is entitled, according to the list prepared by the Lithuanian deposit guarantee fund, to receive compensation, the bank will pay the amount, at the customer’s preference, either in cash or by transfer to the customer’s account at SEB Bank or another bank in Estonia.
