Finantsinspektsioon fined Bondora AS (registry code 11483929) 200,000 euros for a misdemeanour because it was in breach of the principles of responsible lending.
Finantsinspektsioon identified that during the period 06.12.2023 to 24.02.2024 Bondora AS signed credit contracts with consumers without assessing all of the indicators for the consumers required by law or making sure that the liabilities arising from the contract would be met by the terms of the contract. This action meant that Bondora AS was in breach of the obligation to assess the credit capacity of consumers and committed a misdemeanour under § 99 (2) of the Creditors and Credit Intermediaries Act. Bondora AS may dispute the decision as allowed by law.
