Finantsinspektsioon today met representatives of the Single Resolution Board, led by Boštjan Jazbec, a member of the board of the SRB, during their regular visit to Estonia.
They met leaders and staff of Finantsinspektsioon and Eesti Pank during the visit. The main focus of the meetings was the local banking market and they discussed questions of financial stability, the structure of resolution functions, cyber risk management, and mutual cooperation. The Single Resolution Board gave a review at the meetings of its priorities in its work for next year.
Finantsinspektsioon, as the Estonian resolution authority, has taken an active role in the work of the Single Resolution Board since it was set up in 2015. The task of the Single Resolution Board is to ensure that winding up the operations of large banks that have fallen into difficulty has minimal impact on the non-financial economy and on funding both within the euro area countries and outside of them.
