Finantsinspektsioon is starting a new regular statistical release that will focus on financial indicators for the consumption of financial services by households in Estonia. The indicators will be published in a statistical release once a quarter, two months after the end of the quarter.
They will give a picture of the main financial services used by consumers in Estonia, covering deposits, loans, investments and pension funds. The selected indicators can be used for estimating the financial position of Estonian households and observing changes in it over time.
“Publishing these statistics will give a clear and understandable picture of how households in Estonia use the main financial services, and will help show better how vulnerable they may be to changes in the environment”, said Andre Nõmm of the Finantsinspektsioon management board.
The statistics will be compiled from data in the supervisory reports submitted by Estonian financial companies and branches of foreign companies operating in Estonia on their activities. Finantsinspektsioon publishes a more detailed review of the market in financial services on its website twice a year.
