Finantsinspektsioon and Eesti Pank held a seminar for teachers on 1 March from 10.00–12.00 that discussed the work of Eesti Pank, inflation and the risks of crypto assets. It also presented the events of the upcoming month of understanding money. A recording of the seminar and the presentations can be watched here in Estonian.
The seminar was opened by Governor of Eesti Pank Madis Müller, who explained what Eesti Pank does, where inflation is headed, and what Eesti Pank can do to tackle it. As Croatia became a new member of the euro area at the start of the year, foreign affairs expert Sirje Rank spoke about the expansion of the euro area and the advantages of being a member. Head of the Finantsinspektsioon Innovation Hub Mari-Liis Kukk talked about innovative investment and the risks to bear in mind when investing in crypto.
Head of the financial education committee of the Estonian Banking Association Mari-Liis Jääger spoke about the online conference aimed at pupils from school years 7-12 on 23 March on knowledge about money, and about other upcoming events. Head of communications at Finantsinspektsioon Eva Vahur presented a new worksheet and online lectures on knowledge about finances, and the cartoon drawing competition.
