Estonia was visited by the management of the European Single Resolution Board

Board Member of the European Single Resolution Board Tuija Taos and Head of Unit for Resolution Planning and Decisions Jose Manuel Panero Rivas visited Estonia on 15 November. During the visit they met the heads of Finantsinspektsioon and the Guarantee Fund, and representatives of some banks.

Schoolchildren debated tax rises and the recommendations of influencers

Eesti Pank, Finantsinspektsioon and the debating society Eesti Väitlusselts organised a debating event in the Eesti Pank Museum for young people to debate whether the planned tax rises would support the Estonian economy and whether influencers should share advice about financial literacy.

Information from the Italian insurance supervisor IVASS

The Italian insurance supervisor IVASS announced that resolution measures had been applied to the insurer Assicurazioni Rischi Agricoli VMG 1857 S.p.A and the insurance company FINASS VMG 1857 S.p.A that it controls. The resolution measures are being applied under the provisions of §152 of the Italian insurance supervisory act.

Coop Pank AS was granted a licence to issue covered bonds

At the proposal of Finantsinspektsioon, the European Central Bank gave Coop Pank AS a licence to issue covered bonds. At the same time, Finantsinspektsioon approved Coop Pank’s covered bonds programme.

Sortter OÜ was granted an operating licence as a credit intermediary

Finantsinspektsioon issued a licence to operate as credit intermediary to Sortter OÜ on 21 October. The licence allows Sortter OÜ to issue credit to consumers for a fee or to enable consumers to sign credit agreements. The licence also lets it assist consumers in the process before signing a credit agreement and in signing it and other related activities.

AB Kreditex AS broke the law despite misdemeanour proceedings being terminated

Finantsinspektsioon terminated the misdemeanour case against AB Kreditex AS because the time limit on misdemeanour proceedings had passed. The time expired for the misdemeanour proceedings on 11 October, when the two-year period allowed for the proceedings was completed.
